Service Opportunities
At Cru we believe in serving and loving others just as Jesus Himself did. There are several service opportunities to serve the Atlanta community at Georgia Tech that we like to participate in. Below is a list of events coming in the next couple months. Please consider coming and serving with us!
TEAM BUZZ
Saturday in Late October
"TEAM Buzz is a day of service event where 1500+ alumni, students, and faculty come together to make a difference in the Atlanta community. Some of the places we help are animal shelters, elementary schools, theaters, homeless shelters, elderly homes, libraries, and state parks just to name a few!"
104.7 THE FISH CHRISTMAS WISH
Early December
"In 2006, 104.7 The Fish started a new campaign called Christmas Wish with no budget and a truly divine vision. Christmas Wish works by asking our listeners to submit a story about a friend, family member, co-worker, or anyone they know of that truly needs help during the holiday season. Through the donations and generosity of listeners and advertisers, the Christmas Wish Fund helps make a difference in the lives of others in the Atlanta area."
Details will be released around the beginning of Christmas season.
MLK DAY OF SERVICE
MLK Day
"Join us for Georgia Tech’s Annual MLK Day of Service, a campus-wide initiative honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Participants will serve in teams and engage in service projects with metro Atlanta community partners. Make a difference in your community with “A Day On, Not a Day Off,” and sign up today!"
Details will be released closer to MLK Day.
TECH BEAUTIFICATION DAY
Saturday in Early April
"Run entirely by current Georgia Tech students, Tech Beautification Day gives students the opportunity to participate in service projects that benefit Tech’s campus. TBD attracts over 1,000 volunteers each year who come together to make Georgia Tech a more beautiful place to call home."
